Who We Are The New York Interagency Engineering Council (NYIEC) was established in July of 1979 by a group of professionals representing eight public agencies and utility companies in the New York metropolitan region. In August, 2022, NYIEC Inc. formed a nonprofit corporation, operating as a business league within the meaning of IRS section 501(c)(6). Since its founding, the NYIEC has grown to include thirteen City, State and Regional agencies and utilities. The NYIEC's Mission is to promote common endeavors in the area of concern to its member organizations in order to enable the member organizations to better fulfill their role in serving the public. Included are:

Membership in the council is open to government agencies, public benefit corporations, and public utilities that are active in Engineering and Architectural Design and Construction in the New York City Metropolitan Region
